Organization: Just Because We Care

Description: Just Because We Care exists to end the cycle of poverty in Honduras through supporting children and families in the small community of Guaymitas.

In 2003 my wife, Diane, visited a small town in Honduras called El Progeso. During her visit she traveled to a small village in the mountains called Guaymitas. From there our passion began. We knew that we were supposed to feed the children that were so devastated by the severe poverty in the country. Honduras is poor enough that there is no form of support to help these people that are far from resources. We made personal invesments in the school and local housing as well as helping to supply the village with clothing and access to better education and health resources. The results have been exciting. It is our belief that Diane’s son Timmy, who passed away in 1993, brought us to this place to take care of the children as he watches over them.
